Portrayal of Germans

One thing i cannot wrap my mind around is that despite the fact its been over 60 years the majority of the world still harbors a certain amount of distrust for germany and its citizens. i myself am a dual citizen of the USA and Germany and find it appalling at how narrow minded some people are when they discuss Germany. It seems that a disturbing amount of people think that Germans are jew hating scumballs who should die in a hole. I find that this is completely unacceptable considering that germany has been a democratic country for over 60 years, is part of the UN, and NATO, and is supporting the US with its war in Afghanistan. If that is not enough evidence then perhaps the fact that Germany is one of the Worlds largest economies and has participated in peacekeeping missions around the world. Admittedly there are the neo nazis but those are the dregs of society and should not be representative of the German People who as a whole are just as reputable as any other countrys people. My hope is that those people who still think Germans are evil will be able to eventually realize just as many have that Germans today are not the ones who fought in WWII and that the majority of those who did fight in WWII only did it to protect their country.
